Inaugural MN/USA Girls Team Tournament Showcases Exceptional Talent and Team Spirit

Rochester, MN. – 3/14/2024:  The inaugural MN/USA Girls Team Tournament made its mark as a thrilling showcase of team camaraderie. Held in an individual format with team points accumulated, much like the NCAA D1 Championships, the tournament featured two divisions of teams, each vying for top honors.

In the 8-person team bracket, Blaine emerged as the victor with an impressive display of skill and determination, amassing a total of 177 points. Their journey to victory saw them triumph over formidable opponents, including New Prague, Farmington, Pine Island, and Chatfield.

Meanwhile, in the 4-person team bracket, Stillwater claimed the top spot with a total of 82 points, demonstrating their resilience and competitive spirit. Despite fierce competition from Faribault, Big Lake, and Chaska/Chan, Stillwater showcased their toughness and emerged victorious in a closely contested battle.

The tournament also witnessed several outstanding individual performances, highlighting the exceptional talent present among the competitors. Maggie Rauenhorst from Faribault and Alaina Williams showcased their ability to pion with an impressive five falls each throughout the day.

Notable performers in terms of team points include Malia Jelinek from Stillwater, who amassed the most team points with 40, followed closely by Aeralyn Palmer from New Prague with 37 points. Kinsley Kothenbeutel from Pine Island, Metta Holmgren from Faribault, and Adriana Kunz from Triton also delivered standout performances, contributing significantly to their teams' success.

Individual achievements to celebrate include Laiken Lorch from Blaine scoring the most single match points with 22 points. Caroline Moyer from Waconia racked up the most total match points with an impressive tally of 40.
