We saw a number of our Minnesota kids get beat yesterday which shows how tough this tournament really is. One Minnesota coach said, “you forget actually how tough it is but then you see quarterfinal matches like Logan Swensen against Jax Forrest and Tyson Charmoli against Pierson Manville, all divison 1 wrestlers, in the quarterfinals.” He went on to say that although its tough and kids hate to lose, it’s the necessary step for any kid who aspires to wrestle at the college level, regardless if its division I or division III.
Wednesday will wrap up the freestyle portion of the tournament. Thursday is a day off and Greco will begin on Friday. We hope you have enjoyed the coverage from Minnesota/USA Wrestling. We will be in Fargo through the end to keep the interviews, pictures, and updates coming your way. Good luck to team Minnesota!
Minnesota/USA Wrestling is immensely proud of these young athletes and the dedicated staff of coaches and volunteers who provide opportunities for wrestlers to exceed their potential.
