Day 5 Recap of USMC National Championships in Fargo Highlights Minnesota's Landon Robideau Winning a Fargo Title

Fargo, ND – July 17, 2024: The three-day men’s freestyle tournament concluded on Wednesday evening with impressive results for Team Minnesota. The team saw eight wrestlers achieve All-American status, highlighted by Landon Robideau's victory, earning him a Junior National Championship title.

All eight Minnesota wrestlers emerged victorious in their medal matches. The standout performances included:

  • Landon Robedeau (150 lbs) - Champion, (Oklahoma State commit)
  • Blake Beissel (120 lbs) - Finished 3rd, (Minnesota commit)
  • Tyson Charmoli (144 lbs) - Finished 3rd. (Wyoming commit)
  • Turner Ross (100 lbs) - Finished 3rd.
  • Alex Braun (138 lbs) - Finished 3rd. (Oklahoma commit)
  • Cooper Rowe (150 lbs) - Finished 5th.
  • Evan McGuire (215 lbs) - Finished 5th.
  • Logan Swensen (132 lbs) - Finished 7th. (SDSU commit)

Overall, the Junior team secured a 4th place finish in team points, trailing behind Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and California. With a total of 84 points, they surpassed Illinois, Arizona, and Oklahoma. This marks the first time since 2017 that they have achieved a top 4 finish.

The tournament will take a break on Thursday before resuming with Greco-Roman events on Friday. The Greco-Roman championship finals are scheduled for Saturday, wrapping up a week filled with high-caliber wrestling.
