Meet Cael Altermatt, a determined and talented 10-year-old wrestler from New Ulm, Minnesota. Representing Rolling Thunder Wrestling, Cael has been taking the mat with his relentless work ethic and commitment to his goals. Competing at 74lbs, Cael’s journey is a testament to his passion for the sport and his drive to improve.

Last year, Cael showcased his skills by earning a 3rd-place finish at the MN/USA State Folkstyle Tournament in the 10U, 67 lbs division. This season, he’s continued his impressive streak, with 2nd-place finishes at the Lakeville and Apple Valley tournaments and a 6th-place finish at the Northstar event in October.

Q: What do you like the most about wrestling?
A: "Hard work at practice, the 'Hype,' and the feeling of being excited, scared, and nervous all at the same time when competing."

Q: What is your best move or technique?
A: "A 2 on 1 to a sweep single."

Q: Who is your biggest fan?
A: "My Dad, Of course!"

Q: If you could choose any superpower to help you wrestle, what would it be?
A: "SUPER STRENGTH!"

Q: What’s your favorite food to eat after a match?
A: "Burger."

Q: If you could wrestle for any college team, who would you choose?
A: "Penn State."

Q: Would you rather win a D1 National Title or an Olympic Medal?
A: "Olympic!"

Q: What do you want to accomplish this year in wrestling?
A: "State Champ."

Q: What advice would you give to someone thinking about trying wrestling?
A: "DO IT!"
