Minnesota Wrestlers Make a Statement at 14U Greco-Roman National Duals in Pennsylvania

Minnesota Blue finishes 3rd!

Oaks, PA – June 12, 2025 — Minnesota/USA Wrestling brought the heat to the East Coast this week, turning heads at the 14U Greco-Roman National Duals with strong performances from both the Blue and Red teams. Competing against some of the top talent from across the country, Team Minnesota combined for an impressive 10–3 overall dual meet record and outscored opponents by a margin of 606–393.

Minnesota Blue finished with a 5–1 dual record to finish in 3rd place overall.  They picked up wins over Nebraska, Washington, Maryland, Oklahoma, California, and Iowa.  Their only setback came in a tough battle against Michigan. Meanwhile, Minnesota Red earned a 4–2 record, notching victories over Oklahoma, Georgia, New York,  and South Carolina, with losses to California and Idaho.

The performance sets the tone heading into the freestyle portion of the event, which begins on Friday.

  • Michael Alexander (Blue) – 4 falls

  • Drezden Short (Red) – 3 falls

  • Elias Motta (Blue) – 5 tech falls
  • Cameron Rodgers (Blue) – 4 tech falls
  • Declan Dahl (Blue) – 4 tech falls

Minnesota Red:

  • Micah Donahue: 5–1, 3 tech falls
  • Drezden Short: 5–1, 3 falls
  • Tucker McLennan & Ivan Larsen: Undefeated with all bonus-point victories

With Greco wrapped up, the attention now shifts to freestyle action beginning Friday and concluding Saturday. If Minnesota’s Greco results are any indication, fans can expect more excitement and podium-worthy performances in the days ahead.
