Minnesota/USA Wrestling Holds Annual Membership Meeting and Board Elections

OTSEGO, MN. (October 26, 2025) — Minnesota/USA Wrestling held its annual membership meeting on Sunday in Otsego, bringing together members and leaders from across the state to review progress, elect new officers, and set direction for the year ahead.

The meeting was conducted in two parts, beginning with the annual elections for open board positions, followed by the October meeting led by the newly appointed board of directors.

Jon Mikolyzk was elected as the new Chair of the Board of Directors, succeeding David Peterson. Ryan Hoag will continue serving as President with one year remaining in his current term. Haythem Khalil was elected Vice President, filling a two-year term previously held by Jeff Katherman. Katherman resigned his position after accepting a new role as the organization’s Events Manager.

Alex Van Krevelen was voted as the new Junior Director, succeeding Eric Swensen, who completed his three-year term in the role. Carrie Learn will rejoin the board as the Operations Official, a position previously held by Angie Bizal. Nathan Schut was appointed as the new Kids Director, taking over responsibilities previously held by Jon Mikolyzk.

Board members continuing in their current positions include Brandon Kingsley as Women’s Director, Ryan Fischer as Tournament Director, and Jerrad Nieland as Northern Liaison. Additionally, Kristin Weidemann of Bemidji will join the board as a member of the Competition Council.

The organization is currently seeking to fill two open volunteer positions: Awards Director and Health Service Coordinator. Individuals interested in contributing to Minnesota/USA Wrestling’s mission are encouraged to reach out for more information.
