The number of girls wrestling programs with sanctioned state championships has continued to grow at the local and national level.  This page is intended to share the great female opportunities we have for our female athletes in Minnesota.  

If you have questions or are new to the sport and want more information, please reach out to our Women's Development Director, Katrina Eggum or Women's Director, Ali Bernard-Sprenger.  

Katrina oversees our female youth age group wrestlers and events, such as state folkstyle duals and Heartland duals.   Ali oversees the 16u and Junior girls divisions and national events such as National Duals and the Fargo National Championships.

Here is a spring schedule for ALL GIRLS practices.  You must have a USA Membership card.   Practices will be run by the State Women's Coach, Steve Polakowski. 

• March 10th 
• March 17th 
• March 24th 
• April 7th 
• April 21st 
• April 28th 
• May 5th - NO PRACTICE with STATE
• May 19th 
• June practice dates will be determined later based on attendance and interest.

Girls 14u and older, we encourage you to attend the co-ed practices on Monday evenings at 7pm at Augsburg.  Coach Steve Polakowski will be in attendance to assist the Men's Freestyle Coach, Jayson Ness. 

• March 23rd Freestyle/Greco Kickoff at the University of Minnesota Gopher’s wrestling room.  This is a co-ed event for 14u, 16u, and Juniors.

• May 4th – 5th State Freestyle and Greco Tournament in Rochester, MN

• May 10th – 12th Northern Plains Regional Freestyle and Greco Tournament in Rochester, MN

• May 18th Cadet and Junior (co-ed) Freestyle and Greco Camp in Waconia at the Safari Island Community Center

• June 18th - 22nd National Duals for Girls: 14U & 16U in Westfield, IL. and Junior Girls in Tulsa, OK.

• June 25th Wrestlers to register and declare Cadet and Junior Fargo Tournament Weight (needed to determine wrestle offs)

• June 29th Cadet and Junior Camp Date and Fargo Wrestle off Date ( Wrestle offs only if needed) at STMA High School

• July 9th & July 10th Fargo Camp for kids going to Fargo Only (this camp is MANDATORY to compete in Fargo ALL wrestlers must attend (July 10th picture day)

• July 12th -14th Fargo Cadet and Junior Nationals in Fargo, ND (16U & Juniors Girls  Wrestle the same days)

June 19 - 22 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Cox Business Arena.  June 18th is a travel day and weigh-ins, with wrestling action beginning the following day. 

Jr. Women Freestyle and Greco

• Wrestlers able to compete in the Junior National Duals are born 9/1/2004 and after, plus enrolled in grades 9-12.
• Weight Classes: 95, 100, 105, 110, 115, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 155, 170, 190, 235 lbs

June 19 - 22 in Westfield, Indiana at the Grand Park Events Center.  June 18th is a travel day and weigh-ins, with wrestling action beginning the following day. 

14U Girls National Duals (born 2010-2011)

• 14U Weight Classes: 71, 76, 81, 84, 87, 90, 93, 97, 102, 108, 115, 121, 127, 143, 163, 183

16U Girls National Duals (born 2008-2009)

• 16U Weight Classes: 88, 94, 100, 106, 112, 118, 124, 130, 136, 142, 148, 155, 170, 190, 235
